Naval Air Station Pensacola Security Requirements

This year's Eastern Regional Event will be held at the National Naval Aviation Museum, located on the Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola - an active military base. Enhanced security protocols are in effect due to the war in Iran. These security protocols may change, depending on security threat levels. PMOPA members and their guests agreed to abide by the security protocols in place when registering for this event.

Please read and understand the current security protocols; PMOPA will contact registered attendees if there are further changes.

Identification Requirement

All participants must have a government issued Real ID or a Passport as identification to access the base.

Escort/Access

There are two options for attendees and their guests: attendees can either be escorted by a Department of Defense (DoD) badge holder or complete DoD paperwork and provide copies of identification for a background check.

1) Escorted by DoD Badge holder. Attendees must arrive and depart together. PMOPA is working to secure group transportation which will depart from a central location and go to NAS Pensacola both for the docent-led group tour on Friday and the Regional Event program on Saturday.

Attendees who select this option must arrive and depart at the same time. The transportation will depart at the scheduled time and late-comers could be left behind. Participants who choose this option will not be able to leave the scheduled event early and must depart with the group.

2) Individual access / no escort. If you think you will arrive late or need to depart early on either Friday or Saturday, or wish to have flexibility, you may prefer this option. You will need to complete Department of the Navy Form 5512, provide required identification and undergo a background check. Please contact PMOPA's Mike Nichols via email to receive a copy of this form.

  • The form must be completed in full and ID must be scanned and all files uploaded to PMOPA's Google Drive via this LINK no later than 5:00pm Eastern Daylight Time on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
  • PMOPA will compile and remit all completed 5512 applications and IDs to NAS Pensacola staff.
  • U.S. Navy personnel will conduct background checks on each individual. Only those who are approved will be granted unescorted access to NAS Pensacola.
  • Once vetted in advance, attendees may enter the base through either the Main or West Gate.

Review the Eastern Regional Event Program Schedule / Timing.

We appreciate your understanding, flexibility and cooperation as we work with the National Naval Aviation Museum staff (who are very excited about having PMOPA visit) to ensure this event is successful and enjoyable!
